Girls Girls Girls is a concert supporting the fight for a global end to female genital mutilation. Host and curator Eliza Shaddad treats you to performances from Sarah Howells of Paper Aeroplanes and their “disarming, breezy pop that’s tinged with melancholy” (Guardian) + exceptionally moving poetry from poet and actor Deanna Rodger + Samantha Lindo and Jacob Spencer’s chain-gang gospel blues with a contemporary electronic twist + films, DJ’s and a delicious street food stall!
SAMANTHA HOWELLS
Paper Aeroplanes have released three albums and three EPs, in doing so gaining recognition from the likes of Steve Lamacq, Cerys Matthews, Lauren Laverne and Radio 2’s Bob Harris. Their most recent album ‘Little Letters’ was released on Navigator Records and co-produced with Phill Brown (Talk Talk, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Laura Marling) to immense critical approval.

DEANNA RODGER
A former UK Poetry Slam Champion, she is co-curator of two of London’s leading spoken word events: Chill Pill (Soho theatre and Albany Deptford) and Come Rhyme With Me (Spread the Word and New Writing South) and has written commissions for the BBC, the 2012 Olympic Team Welcome Ceremonies, Buckingham Palace and Speaker’s House. She is a member of the Keats House Poetry Collective, Point Blank Poets, and Podium Poets, and is currently writing her first solo spoken word show ‘London Matter’ which has been supported by the Roundhouse Camden; Albany Deptford; POP Productions (Sky Arts and IdeasTap) and the Arts Council.

SAMANTHA LINDO
Samantha is pioneering a community of artists working together at Wick Court, a dramatically beautiful 17th century Jacobean Manor house just outside Bristol where she lives in community and produces Homegrown, the multi-arts festival, that is based there. She has produced three EP’s, one of which recorded at Abbey Road and is currently on her U.K tour with this London GGG show being the final date of 2014!
