Stage diving out of the gilded gutter singing songs of the high life in low places; The Top Shelf are an assortment of talented eccentrics, circus freaks, madmen, drunks and delinquents. Frontman Foxaque misdirects the band with delicious delusions and obscenities, singing in English, French, German Polish and Russian while they re-imagine the sound of jazz as dark music hall, filthy swing and dirty vaudeville.

This sound is a divine corruption of improbable influences, notably their mutual love of Tom Waites, The Bonzo Dogs, the Old Harlem & Parisian Swing styles, Kid Creole and Queen. An inspired infusion of Punk, Early Jazz, Pop, Cabaret, and Music Hall genres, cut with Rock’n’Roll Stage Front & Devilish Charm. Their music is lewdly endowed with sinister themes of betrayal, romance, dark passions, revenge, Brazilian waxing & the dying art of letter writing.
