Fionn Ó hAlmhain’s Folk Song Workshop continues a new series of donation-based singing classes held on the first Tuesday of each month at Jamboree, each led by a different host. It takes place before our wonderful resident and guest Celtic Session players perform their weekly Tuesday night set.

Fionn Ó hAlmhain was born in Berlin and raised in Wicklow in an Irish and German speaking household. He has been singing Sean nós songs since early childhood, and took to the ballad tradition in his teens. His influences include Labhrás Ó Cadhla, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Luke Kelly and Frank Harte among many others. Fionn completed his BMus in Irish music performance on the Uilleann pipes under the tutelage of Peter Browne, with lectures in the singing tradition from Antaine Ó Faracháin. He has appeared as a piper, flute player, singer, and teacher both at home and abroad, including at the Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy, Festival Interceltique de Lorient, the Celtic Congress, and many more.

With each month featuring a different artist, the series offers a unique opportunity to learn from a diverse range of experienced musicians while connecting with a vibrant musical community.
