A special night of Kurdish dance!

Govend London is a community dance group that aims to connect people from diverse backgrounds and experiences through a cross-cultural exchange of Kurdish dance and music. They create inclusive, friendly, non-judgemental social spaces where people from complete beginners to the more advanced, come together to learn, exchange, and dance. “Govend” is the umbrella name of Kurdish dances – taking the form of the circle dance, usually in a line with dancers holding hands. They are mixed-gender, group dances danced at festivals, birthdays, New Year, Newroz, demonstrations, marriages and other ceremonies.

There will be workshop at 7.30pm, followed by social dancing!

Also, our ‘Arepatoire’ kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish! Find the menu HERE!
