Taking place before our weekly live Celtic Session, an informal life drawing session interpreting folk music and movement, hosted by experienced artists, and featuring live musical performances!

Tracing Tales invite you to the table for an informal drawing session and folk music workshop to visually interpret music and movement, and with imagination, approach themes of folklore and storytelling. The workshop is intended to open up the space for more interpretive drawing styles than classical life drawing, and to create an inclusive space for all drawing abilities. Tonight welcomes Henry Webster, an award-winning fiddle player, violinist and composer.

Growing up in Oxfordshire, Henry was immersed in the classical and English folk music scenes, and his latest project brings together his continued love of both these worlds. Drawing particular inspiration from J.S. Bach, Ysaye and the traditional music that has danced through Europe for hundreds of years, his compositions for solo violin aim to speak from the heart, while being free of ego; both transcending the day-to-day and grounding the audience in the present moment.

Particular thanks go to the Atlantic Centre for The Arts, New Smyrna Beach, Florida for providing time and space to begin this adventure and to Jeremy Kittel for his generous and expert guidance and inspiration.

Join us to experience the incredible musical craftsmanship of Henry Webster and create your own artistic expressions of his work on paper.
