A Friday night with Luzmira Zerpa, whose music has blended traditional, folkloric music from Latin America with world influences, notably Afrobeat, blues and jazz. Tonight she presents her new project focused on Venezuelan, Latin and African music with electronic and psychedelic sounds.

Luzmira Zerpa is a prolific Venezuelan singer/songwriter based in UK who has performed internationally as a solo artist and toured extensively throughout Europe with her band Family Atlantica (Soundway Records). Luzmira has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the Elbphailarmonie (Hamburg) as well as festivals including Glastonbury Festival, Womad and the World Music Festival in Udaipur, India. Her band Family Atlantica was awarded best upcoming band by Songlines Magazine in 2015.

DJ CArlitos Nino will also play a set of cumbia and world beats. From Colombia, CArlitos showcases a fusion of Latin American music with a London twist. His remixes are influenced by world music, connecting a community to a selected component of its past whilst giving meaning to the present. Expect to hear a selection connecting the roots of latin music with the modern new wave of global beats, mixed with the most popular genres from Cumbia, Tropical Bass, Afro-latin roots, Salsa Brava, Folktronica, Dance, Funk, Disco and Urban denbow, mashups and popular rhythms!
