The band are a powerful combination of percussionists and strong voices of Pacific music, challenging gender norms. At the heart of the project is Marimbea — not only a band, but a cultural organization that works with over 80 musicians, dancers, and tradition bearers, and partners with 20 grassroots cultural groups across the Pacific region. This performance is a showcase of the very best from that vibrant network.
