Gamelan and Ethiojazz: Sekar Enggal ft. Hendrawati + Byron Wallen

Gamelan Sekar Enggal is the UK’s foremost ensemble for the Sundanese music of West Java. Tonight’s concert includes a variety of the traditional gamelan degung (gong chime ensemble) and tembang Sunda (songs with flute and zither) repertoire, featuring the renowned Sundanese vocalist Hendrawati and special guest Byron Wallen, the highly-acclaimed trumpet player, with several examples of Ethiojazz.

Our weekly traditional Jamboree Celtic session! Come and enjoy listening in to the warmth and beauty of this special music with us. The session features established musicians on the London trad session scene, playing mainly Irish tunes with a few Scottish and other related traditional styles thrown in.
We also have a HAPPY HOUR between 5 and 7pm.

Buffo’s Wake + Mazaika

Buffo’s Wake bring an avalanche of accordions, clarinets, violins and buckets full of bravado the waltz, tango, mosh and kolo their way through an array of influences from Eastern European folk tunes, Balkan brass bands and Slavic murder ballads to punk rock and dark cabaret. In support, Mazaika will ignite the stage with Gypsy fire, tango passion, operatic melodrama and classical virtuosity, plus some hot club and hillbilly mayhem!

Hypnotic North African grooves meet high-energy live performance with Berber Diffusion, London’s first traditional Amazigh ensemble, filling the Jamboree dancefloor! Delivering a powerful, contemporary take on North Africa’s indigenous musical heritage, the band fuse Amazigh pentatonic melodies with the deep, trance-driven rhythms of Gnawa, drawing on centuries-old traditions of poetry, ceremony, and celebration reimagined for today’s stages with authenticity and edge.
