Join us for Jakefest 2026, an afternoon and evening celebrating the comic, poetic, storytelling genius of Jake Thackray, one of our greatest and most original songwriters.

Please note that the afternoon session (2pm till 7pm) is free and unticketed, and the evening session (8pm onwards) is ticketed.

Join us to:

• meet up with friends old and new
• hear Jake’s songs
• perform Jake’s songs
• learn how to play Jake’s songs
• learn about his remarkable life and work

Programme: Afternoon (free and unticketed)
1.30pm – doors open
2.00pm – song circle  – A chance to sing Jake’s songs in front of a supportive audience. Performance slots must be booked in advance. Please email Malcy at jakefest@hotmail.com.
5.00pm – Jake Thackray – The Unsung Writer – A discussion of Jake’s remarkable life and work featuring special guest Rick Irons (Jake’s brother-in-law) and Paul Thompson (co-author of Beware of the Bull – The Enigmatic Genius of Jake Thackray and editor of Jake Thackray – The Unsung Writer)
6.00pm – informal guitar workshop – A chance to share and pick up tips on playing Jake’s songs.

Evening (ticketed event)
8.00pm – concert  – Featuring some of our most experienced Thackray performers.

Jamboree food option: Our ‘Zer’ kitchen is open from 5pm serving delicious Middle Eastern fusion food for you to enjoy a meal/snack if you wish! Find the menu HERE!
