Taking place before our weekly live Celtic Session, an informal life drawing session interpreting folk music and movement, hosted by experienced artists, and featuring live musical performances!

Tracing Tales invite you to the table for an informal drawing session and folk music workshop to visually interpret music and movement, and with imagination, approach themes of folklore and storytelling. The workshop is intended to open up the space for more interpretive drawing styles than classical life drawing, and to create an inclusive space for all drawing abilities.

In Episode 12, we are excited to present Leo Garbutt, a British-Chilean alternative indie songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Raised on Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Chilean folk-rockers Los Jaivas, Leo later immersed himself in ambient and art-rock, new wave and indie folk to shape his sound, weaving introspective lyricism with rich musical textures.

By the age of 20, Leo had written and recorded nine albums/EPs, and has continued writing and collaborating ever since. In 2023, he co-produced ‘The Creation of Birds’ with his sister Gabi Garbutt. The EP’s lead single, ‘Panic’, a collaboration with Du Blonde, received plays on BBC Radio 6 Music (Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins) and Radio X (John Kennedy). Now developing songs for his next album, Leo continues to perform across grassroots venues in London, drawing audiences into cathartic, deeply personal songs that balance raw storytelling with melodically woven arrangements.

Join us to experience the lyrical joys of Leo Garbutt’s music and interpret the sounds on paper.
