AMARATERRA

Amaraterra is the first Pizzica ensemble in London- performing traditional dances and music from the heel of Italy.

A ‘Pizzica’ is the malicious bite of the tarantula spider. In order to heal from the poison you must dance till you drop, following the intense, restless beat of the tambourine.

This is one of the oldest musical expressions of the mediterranean, brought to London by a group of passionate musicians and dancers.

Jamboree is delighted to have Amaraterra back for another evening of exotic instruments, colour and movement!

LITTLE VICTOR

This favored son of the blues began his career in 1981 -at the age of 14- singin’ with the Sunbeams. The band mostly featured songs from the Sun records vaults. Hence the name “Little” Victor.

At 16 he picked up the blues harmonica and started to wail in the style of Jimmy Reed and Junior Parker. He learned what the real blues was playin’ with real bluesmen in Memphis, Tennessee when he was a young man.

Little Victor promises the deepest and smoothest blues sounds in town.
