OPTIONAL DRESS CODE: Accra 1970’s Highlife Party. A LOVE LETTER FROM ACCRA TO THE DIASPORA

Following a sold-out Sahraoui Summer Special, Folktales returns with the second chapter of their 2026 journey.

“When in Accra…” is a celebration of the enduring cultural ties between West Africa and the Afro-diaspora — a musical voyage tracing rhythms from the Gold Coast to Bahia, from Accra to Rio, from ancestral memory to the dancefloor.

Expect an unforgettable night of Highlife, Afrobeat, Samba, Afro-Fusion and tropical grooves as musicians from Ghana, Nigeria and Brazil come together in a joyful exchange of culture, rhythm and spirit.

HEADLINER: OKAILEY

Hailing from Ghana, Okailey bring a powerful 10-piece ensemble steeped in the rich traditions of Highlife, Afrobeat and Afro-Rock. With soaring horns, infectious rhythms and irresistible energy, their music captures the heartbeat of modern Accra while honouring the sounds that shaped generations across West Africa.

SPECIAL GUEST: ALEH FERREIRA

Direct from the cradle of Afro-Brazilian culture, Aleh Ferreira is one of the leading voices of contemporary Música Popular Brasileira. Best known as the frontman of legendary Brazilian funk pioneers Banda Black Rio, his music draws inspiration from the sacred drums and melodies that gave birth to Samba itself. Warm, soulful and deeply rooted, Aleh’s performances are celebrations of heritage, joy and connection.

OPENING PERFORMANCE: HAKIM THE PHOENIX ft. U5

Afro-Fusion artist, dancer and producer Hakim The Phoenix opens the evening with a captivating blend of Afrobeats, soul, rhythm and storytelling. Exploring themes of spirituality, consciousness and the human experience, his performances blur the boundaries between music, movement and ritual.

AFTER PARTY:
DJ KETELLIN

Keeping the celebration alive into the early hours with a vibrant selection of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Afro-Fusion grooves and dancefloor favourites from across the diaspora.
