Friday night at with Imperio Bamba’s superb Peruvian rebel chicha show, comprising of a dance-driven, Latin American psychedelic ritual: immersive, euphoric, and joyful. Support comes from the brilliant Las Chanchas, blending traditional Latin rhythms with surf and psychedelic rock, bringing a fresh take on Peru’s Cumbia golden age!

Headiners Imperio Bamba’s sound brings together a bold fusion of hypnotic Afro-Latin rhythms such as cumbia, salsa and reggaeton; psychedelic synths and guitars; and commanding bilingual vocals that re-imagine Peru’s chicha through a contemporary, global lens. They call this rhythm Rebel Chicha, a Latin American psychedelic ritual, resonating with fans of Bomba Estéreo, Los Mirlos, and mainstream artists who reclaim and perform a shared Latinx culture on a global stage. Now expanded into a six-piece band, all first-generation migrant musicians from South America, their storytelling and Spanglish delivery treat language as a rhythmic force, creating connections across cultures. Their debut EP Rebel Chicha reimagining of ‘My Favourite Things’ has received praise in the both UK and Latin America.

In support, known for their energetic live performances, Las Chanchas take their vibrant dance sounds to clubs and venues across London, bringing Chicha to new ears.
